Collector of Weird and Wonderful Tales

Reading has always been a favorite pastime of mine and I rarely go anywhere without a book tucked into my purse. From non-fiction to fantasy to science fiction, I will gladly read whatever catches my eye. I’m especially fond of tales of the unexplained, paranormal, or weird.

Holiday Crafting

Now is a perfect time to start on your holiday crafts. Whether you are decorating for the holidays or just want a quick gift, these books provide some great inspiration.

Silly Scares

These books are perfect for little ones who might want a spooky story that isn't too scary.

Fright Nights with M. Night

Sometimes cheesy, sometimes frightening, but always entertaining. M. Night Shyamalan movies are always worth a watch, especially during October. Try one of these or check out our catalog for more films by this director.

Take a Hike!

As the weather turns warmer, it is time to go outside. On the weekends in the spring and summer, I enjoy local hikes and bird watching. These books can give you ideas on where to hike and what birds you might see.

Quirky Reads

Each of these books had a premise that was so quirky that I couldn't help but give them a read. If you are looking for something slightly quirky, but still poignant, then give one of these books a try.

It's a Disaster

My favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon is watching disaster movies. They may be cheesy and the science might be a bit off, but watching one or two of these films is a good way to spend an afternoon.

Step Into Science Fiction

I have always loved science fiction novels. I remember reading "Ender’s Game" and "Farnham’s Freehold" when I was in elementary school. If you are looking to develop a love of science fiction, then try one of these books. Some are older classics and some were just published in the last couple of years. Either way, these books are a great way to dive into the science…

Get a Hobby!

The library is great place to explore a new hobby or even fine tune the skills you already have. I have learned baking, weaving, crochet, and so much more just from borrowing books from the library. Check out one of these books and learn something new.

Loaf is All You Need

Nothing tastes quite as good as bread fresh from the oven. Homemade bread can seem like a daunting task, but with these books you will be whipping out lovely loafs in no time.

Road Trip!

Who doesn’t love a road trip? The open road, music blaring, hitchhiking aliens, and a gift shop run by the fates. Wait, what? The road trips in these books are anything but normal. Ranging from quirky to spooky, these books are sure to entertain
