Mid-Columbia Libraries (MCL) serves the residents of Benton, Franklin, and parts of Adams counties through 12 branch libraries. We are currently seeking a community-focused leader to serve as Branch Manager for our Benton City branch with a desire to empower people, support learning and strengthening our community. The Branch Manager plans, organizes, and manages branch library in accordance with the mission, budget, policies and procedures of the Mid‐Columbia Libraries (MCL). In this position, the Branch Manager will act as a liaison with the local community; plan and promote library programs, services and resources; manage library staff; monitor library and collection usage; and resolve customer concerns. The Branch Manager will develop and implement branch goals, objectives and plans while demonstrating good stewardship of library resources and will be expected to anticipate needs and respond quickly to a variety of situations.
The ideal candidate works proactively, demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and is able to resolve challenges professionally. Will provide regular coaching and guidance to staff and promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
Hiring Range & Benefits:
Branch Manager II: $26.90/hour-$29.49/hour DOQ + benefits including paid time off (sick, vacation, holidays), healthcare, Washington State PERS retirement, union-represented, and $1,800 annual bilingual premium pay available!

- Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college
- Successful candidates will have at least 2-3 years of customer service experience, including public contact
- Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- One year of lead or supervisory experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Master of Library Science degree and Washington State Librarian certificate
