Library Giving Day

Consider making a donation to support Mid-Columbia Libraries during this national, one-day online fundraising event that gives library fans like you a chance to celebrate and enhance the vital services libraries provide for our communities.

This year, we hope to raise funds to support our annual Summer Reading Challenge programs, performances, and giveaways. Young readers who complete the challenge receive a book to take home and are entered to win prizes.

Donations can be made via our secure online option Zeffy, or by cash or check.

Why Donate

Mid-Columbia Libraries is an intercounty rural library district funded primarily by taxpayer dollars. We are not permitted to spend taxpayer dollars on certain items, such as prizes and some book giveaways. We are continually seeking ways to expand access to library collections and services and proving to our taxpayers we are an outstanding institution making significant and exceptional contributions to the quality of life of our residents and communities. With your help, we can continue to offer the high quality library programs, such as reading challenges, author visits, concerts, and lectures, which enrich the lives of community members of all ages.

How Far Does My Dollar Go?

Any amount is appreciated, and all donations go towards funding outstanding educational programs and prizes.

Suggested donations:

  • $25 buys 8 picture books, 6 chapter books, or 5 young adult books to giveaway to young readers who complete the Summer Reading Challenge.
  • $100 helps fund visits by award-winning authors like Debbie Macomber, Alexander McCall Smith, Matt de la Peña, and Deborah Diesen who inspire all generations of readers and writers.
  • $500 helps fund performances and programs for families to enjoy during the Summer Reading Challenge such as Reptile Lady, Oregon Museum of Science and History, and McBones Research Center Foundation.

If you’re able, we invite you to make a gift today and be part of this effort to support our communities this summer. Thank you for believing in the power of libraries. We understand and please know that any gift, no matter how large or small, will keep us strong for our community now and in the future.
