Get Your Groove On

Get Your Groove On

“Shared experience” is a key factor in successful early learning.  Baby Einstein has acknowledged that their baby videos are not educational and are offering a refund to parents.  How to get your refund and the reasons why are explained in the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/24/education/24baby.html?_r=2&ref=todayspaper

Setting your child in front of the TV works in the same way as putting the baby by the washing machine or vacuum cleaner – calming, hypnotizing even, but not educational.  Videos are not a learning environment for children under 2 years old.

So get up and dance, curl up and snuggle, share a story and a song.  The following books invite you to get up and act out the story, problem solve, and imagine together.  Enjoy!
